‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (Travel Copywriting & Content Marketing Version)

Happy holidays!

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
The only sound to be heard was the click of a mouse;
For dreams of sightseeing and exotic locales;
Are a traveler’s best way to boost winter morale.

The globetrotters are nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of getaways dance in their heads;
Of new tastes and warm sands to beat the cold snap;
Travel fantasies to sustain them through this long winter’s nap.

They are pinning on Pinterest and devouring travel blogs,
Fantasizing of the Serengeti, Costa Rica and Prague;
Perusing top-10s and searching for deals;
Scouring the web to see what most appeals.

For these travelers, you design your marketing plan,
To boost engagement through content, and better your brand;
For hotels and inns, travel agents and tours,
This is the year for blogging and online brochures.

Your guests are now social, so to cut through the thick,
Create the best of the best to earn visits from St. Click;
Your colors, your headlines – they all have their place;
2014 is the year to be better, to pick up the pace.

It’s time to improve copy and your calls-to-action,
Build incredible content for better site traction;
Boosting trust and market share is your number-one aim;
So they’ll whistle and squeal, and request you by name:

“Now, that is a destination for two-thousand-fourteen,
We simply must visit, there’s so much to be seen!
To that rainforest, that safari, that country chateau!
Now fly away, fly away, we can’t wait to go!”

And then, in a twinkling, they click the Book button,
So quick, so decisive, but it’s not at all sudden;
For your blog and your website – all of your content,
Is designed to win over each persona segment.

To urge them to travel right through your sales funnel,
Content marketing’s the answer to revenue troubles.
Blogging builds trust and your web copy is seduction;
Travelers are awaiting your booking instruction.

Your year’s resolution should be a promise to shine,
To recharge your travel copy and create content so fine;
That travelers and guests won’t want to resist,
To like and to follow, and join your mailing list.

If your goal is better business and booming bookings,
On copy and content, you’d better get cooking;
This is not something you can further postpone,
As much of your competition has already shown.

So what’s the first step? Book your free consultation,
We’ll chat about content as your booking foundation;
If brand loyalty and occupancy are your ongoing quests,
We’ll talk about leads and conversions to guests.

But now I am off to enjoy  family time,
To return in ’14 (when I’ll stop making rhymes).
Until then, I wish you all a season joyous and bright;
Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good night!
